Sheboygan Big Brothers Big Sisters honored their Big and Little graduates.

Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Sheboygan County honored their graduating mentees, or “Littles” from their program as well as many mentors, or “Bigs” for their service at the “Morning of Milestones Banquet” that was held May 5, at Blue Harbor Resort in Sheboygan.

In addition to the recognition of individuals, Kohler Co. was recognized as the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Corporate Partner of the Year.

Sheboygan neighborhood groups teamed up to clean Lake Michigan shorelines 

Three neighborhood groups in Sheboygan teamed up to clean the Lake Michigan shoreline during the last weekend in April. Friends of North Point, Friends of Peace Park Sheboygan and King Park Neighborhood Association collected 220 pounds of garbage from three of the city’s major beaches at Sheboygan’s North Point, Deland and General King parks.

Gesangverein Concordia presents $1,000 check to Lakeland University 

Gesangverein Concordia, a 158-year-old German singing society in Sheboygan, presented a check for $1000 to the Lakeland University Choral Music Department on Sunday, April 29, at a joint concert on the Lakeland University campus at W3718 South Dr., Plymouth.

The Guenther Gottffried Uhlig Memorial Scholarship was given in memory of Guenther Uhlig, a native of Dresden East Germany who, with his wife Margarete, immigrated to Sheboygan in the late 1950’s.

Sheboygan Senior Activity Center hosts city livability public listening session

Senior Activity Center of Sheboygan invites the City of Sheboygan community to their Livability of the City of Sheboygan Community Listening Session from 9:30-11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, at Glas Coffee House, 924 N 14th St. Sheboygan. Coffee and cookies will be served at this event. At this event, one will learn that a livable community is not just a place to live, but much more.
